Yes and no :) Travel agencies are compensated in two ways -- first though professional planning fees paid for by the client, and second through commissions paid by tour operators, hotels and resorts, cruise lines, and other travel suppliers.

Blue Pointe Travel currently does not charge planning fees for guided tours, cruises, or All-Inclusive vacations.   Custom itinerary planning begins at $250 per trip and varies by size of group and destination.

do you charge planning fees?

Most of our clients plan their trips at least 6 - 12 months in advance and many cruises can be booked up to two years in advance.  This allows for proper destination research, ample time to connect with our travel partners to confirm availability and services internationally, and if booking a cruise, this advance planning will ensure that you are able to sail in the cabin category of your choice and secure a place on your desired itinerary.

Last minute trips, or those that are booked within 30 days of departure, will incur a $200 close-in booking fee.

How far out should i book my trip?

Absolutely!  Arriving a few days before your European river cruise departs Amsterdam or extending your Mediterranean cruise in Barcelona for another week in Spain?  Extending your trip to Antarctica by adding a few days in Argentina?  Or simply arriving in Florida a day or two  before your winter cruise?  No problem!  We've got you covered.

We will create a custom itinerary including flights, hotels, airport transfers, rail, and excursions to suit your travel style and needs for before or after your ocean, expedition, or river cruise.

can you assist with pre or post cruise itinerary planning?
