For the best experience, we recommend booking your luxury cruise, river cruise, or guided journey 6–12 months in advance — and for many expedition cruises, up to two years ahead.

Early planning ensures you can:

  • Select your preferred suite or stateroom category
  • Secure the most desirable sailing date or itinerary
  • Take advantage of early booking offers
  • Allow ample time for passports, visas, and flight arrangements

At Blue Pointe Travel, most of our clients plan their trips well in advance so we can coordinate every detail with our trusted global partners. Last-minute trips booked within 60 days of departure incur a $250 close-in booking fee to cover expedited arrangements.

How far out should i book my luxury cruise or international trip?

Absolutely.  One of the best ways to enhance your cruise vacation is to extend it with a personalized pre- or post-cruise itinerary. Blue Pointe Travel specializes in designing luxury pre- and post-cruise extensions for river, ocean, and expedition cruises.

Whether you’d like to:

  • Arrive in Amsterdam a few days early before your European river cruise,
  • Spend an extra week exploring Spain after a Mediterranean voyage,
  • Add Buenos Aires and Iguazú Falls to your Antarctica expedition, or
  • Enjoy a relaxed pre-cruise stay in Florida before sailing the Caribbean —

We’ll handle the details: flights, boutique hotels, private transfers, rail connections, and curated local experiences tailored to your travel style.  Planning fees may apply.
